Rebekah Janse Van Rensburg. I remember sitting in a classroom called “ Tinkerbell”. Bex had just started, joining us from Treverton. Her goal was to be a doctor and today sees her dream, become reality. What a gift to see this goal achieved. Young people will never understand the gift it is to be able to watch them say something and then go on to and make it happen. I am grateful we were part of your story, Bex. Stretch out and touch the stars, you are creating a path for others to follow on your footsteps.
Brooklyn Bowman celebrating her nursing degree. Brooklyn’s North Star on her journey through Calibre was to be a nurse. Straight after she matriculated she headed to Australia to study. Today she touched the stars - celebrating her graduation day.
Aadil Paruk. Joined Calibre in 2018 - at this point having given up on his dream. There was a spark smoldering and we were able to give it oxygen, to gently nurture the flame and he matriculated. On Friday he graduated as a doctor. It is a testimony to hope, drive and a clear determination to touch the stars. We are so proud to have been a part of Aadil’s story. Time to celebrate.
Craig Thrupp Class of 2012. Now Dr Craig Thrupp. Calibre is about holding you up, to touch the stars. Each star is there to inspire. Could Craig have imagined this dream when starting with us? Not for a moment. Craig grew in confidence, started to achieve, started to dream. This year he saw that dream become reality. We have a thought, it starts an action and if you just take each step … you touch the stars. Colleen, his Mom, was my first mentor teacher at Northcliff High School, my first teaching practical in 1984. Colleen later spent years teaching at Calibre. Life circles connecting and sparking moments. Creating light, to light the path… to touch the stars. Congratulations Craig. We could not be more proud.
